On 22–23 September, on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Coalition of Governments and International Organizations on Global Public Investment convened two high-level dialogues to advance its shared agenda for international cooperation.
The programme opened with a Special Dialogue on Global Public Investment for a World in Transition, bringing together government representatives and strategic partners to discuss the Coalition’s priorities, opportunities for collective political action, and ways to translate shared commitments into practical results.
On 23 September, the Coalition held its High-Level Meeting, bringing together governments from different regions, international organizations, development finance institutions, former Heads of State and Government, and strategic partners. The meeting marked an important milestone with the agreement of the Co-Chairs Statement, presented by H.E. Cheikh Niang, Foreign Minister of Senegal and Coalition Co-Chair, setting out a shared roadmap for the next 12 months.
Building on the momentum achieved since the Coalition’s launch, the programme of work ahead will focus on developing pilot initiatives, expanding geographical representation, launching a civil society consultation, and strengthening engagement in key global and regional processes, including the G20, World Bank Annual Meetings, AU–CELAC cooperation and the 2027 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The discussions reinforced a shared commitment to strengthening the Coalition as a government-led platform for political coordination, regional ownership and practical approaches to international cooperation.
The next phase will see the Coalition deepen its regional engagement, including in Bangkok, while continuing to broaden participation and build partnerships across regions.
The task ahead is clear: turn political commitment into concrete collective action.
We thank all governments and partners contributing to this effort and invite others who share this ambition to join us in advancing a more inclusive, equitable and effective system of international cooperation.
